Somavara Amavasai
As per ancient Hindu scriptures, the day of Amavasai is believed to be the most auspicious. Amavasai that falls on Monday (Somwar) is known as Somvati Amavasya and has a special significance. It is also believed that all desires could be fulfilled if one fasts on the day of Somvati Amavasya.
In RVS, during Somavara amavasya, we do 108 arasamara pradhakshanam. 108 dates are kept to count total numbers by the devotees
