My sister Smt.Saroja Krishnamurthy passed away yesterday.

She was more a mother to me Given below is the message gy his son in FB “A beautiful life came to a peaceful end today. My mother lived a full and purposeful life, and cherished every moment she spent with family and friends. Her home in Chennai was a family hub where she welcomed and tended to the young and old, the sick and healthy. Her life was a legacy of love. She was the family historian and loved sharing stories and events with clarity and detail. To see her so frail and disinterested in life these last few months has been quite painful. We are grateful for the excellent care Rajiv and Vasanthi (my brother and sister-in-law) gave her and for her very peaceful end. While we are comforted by all the wonderful memories she leaves behind, our only regret is that we can’t be there to bid her goodbye as she journeys onwards. Your thoughts and remembrances are much appreciated.”
Om shanthi

A recipient of the Sangeet NatakAkademi award and the Tamil Nadu government’s Kalaimamani award, Natarajan not only popularised this ancient Baghavatha mela art form but also groomed enthusiastic youngsters. An accomplished actor, he was known for his enactment of female roles such as Leelavati in ‘PrahladaCharitam’ and Chandramati in ‘Harishchandra’. His exquisite abhinaya conveyed the nuances of these characters

We, the Residents of Ravanasamudram , are shocked to hear the sudden passing away of our dear Natarajan Sir. We mourn the passing away of Melattur Sri. S. Natarajan, (aged 78) at 2.54 pm on 15/10/2020. A Doyen of the Bhagavatha Mela NatyaNatakams, he will be deeply missed by RVS kudumbam.

He and his dance family of around 40 to 60 numbers have gelled with our life particularly during our ThaipoosaThirunaal. The day prior to Therottam is always fixed for his troup’s performance, as his students used to do Kolattam as the Ther moves.

He also used to take part in Rudhrajapam. All these he did without any expenses to us. We felt that he adopted RVS next to Melattur. The void created by his demise cannot be filled.
We from RVS pray the almighty to give enough strength to Anu madam and his daughters, especially to Smt. Priyamwadha to bear this irreparable loss.

Lord Narasimha will take care of him and his family
